OPG`s Legal Services and Information Assurance Branch is based in Birmingham and Nottingham and provides legal and information assurance (AI) services to all of OPG`s business lines. The team`s main legal work consists of litigation. There is also an advisory aspect to the work, both in terms of investigation and follow-up of cases. As well as legal advice on political matters. The IA team handles requests for information under access to information and data protection legislation and wants to ensure that OPG complies with all of its legal obligations under this Act. The range of duties includes advising all business units on matters relating to the performance of OPG`s statutory duties; reviewing reports prepared as a result of investigations and advising on possible legal proceedings; overseeing the drafting of motions and court evidence; and litigation on behalf of OPG.
